01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
02 - Rinse asparagus spears under cool water and pat dry. Snap off tough woody ends or trim with a knife.
03 - Divide asparagus into 8 even bundles. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss gently to coat evenly.
04 - Wrap each asparagus bundle with one slice of bacon, starting at the bottom and spiraling upward to cover most of the spear. Place bundles seam-side down on prepared baking sheet.
05 - Bake for 18-22 minutes until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender-crisp. For extra crispy bacon, switch to broiler for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching closely to prevent burning.
06 - Transfer to serving platter using tongs. Serve hot while bacon remains crispy. Excellent alongside grilled steak, roast chicken, or as part of a brunch spread.
